You have a special event coming up such as a wedding, prom, anniversary, vacation, etc. and you are really excited about it. When all of a sudden you wake up and you find a wart on your face. The problem is you don’t have months to wait for it to go away on it’s own – you need to get rid of it soon! What can you do?
First, let me say you have my upmost sympathy. Warts are nasty little problems caused by a mean little virus called HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). I know, I know, who cares! How do I get rid of it. Well quickly, it you have never suffered thru a wart before, just know that this is a common problem and it will most likely go away eventually but it usually takes time.
One thing that I will tell you (that you won’t want to hear) is that it probably doesn’t look as bad as you think. Warts have a tendency to look bigger (and uglier) to us than anyone looking at us. But let’s face it, no matter how smaller or out of the way it is, it’s there and you want it gone.
Many people start buy trying to cover it up. Depending on the size, that might work for you. But if it doesn’t, there are some treatments out there that can help you. Some require a visit to the doctor. They can cut the wart (not a good idea if you have a facial wart because it could leave a scar). There are also topical treatments out there also that you can buy over-the-counter. The doctor might have a prescription remedy for you as well. The problem is many of these solutions may take longer than you have.
Some people have resorted to (and have had mixed success with) home remedies – duct tape anyone? Ouch!
The problem with viruses is that they usually have their own timetable. They will go away when they are ready and unfortunately they have a nasty habit of coming back.
There are some natural treatments that are available. Some that work pretty quickly. It just takes a little time and finding the solution that works best for you. Some treatments can work relatively fast and some can not only help you quickly but can help you prevent or reduce recurrences later.
